Glynn County School To Maintain Current Millage Rate
The Glynn County Board of Education is standing firm in its commitment to fiscal responsibility by maintaining the same property tax millage rate for 2025 as adopted in 2024. Despite rising costs and inflationary pressures, the Board has announced that the millage rate will remain at 14.90 mills.
While there is an advertised 7.35% increase in property taxes, this is solely due to the inflationary adjustments to the tax digest mandated by state law. Glynn County taxpayers will not see an increase in the millage rate itself.
If you have the Scarlett-Williams homestead exemption and your property’s assessed value has not changed due to property improvements, your tax bill for the County’s portion will remain the same as last year. If you do not have the Scarlett-Williams homestead exemption and your property’s assessed value has increased, although the millage rate is the same as last year, your taxes will be higher due to the increased assessed value of your home. The proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $575,000 is approximately $234.60.
Full details of the millage rate adoption process, as well as a five-year history of millage rates, are available on the Glynn County Schools website.
