Georgia Title I Distinguished and Reward Schools
Glynn County Schools is proud to announce that five of its schools have earned state recognition from the Georgia Department of Education for their outstanding academic performance and progress.
C.B. Greer Elementary School and St. Simons Elementary School were named 2025 Georgia Title I Distinguished Schools, an honor reserved for the top 5% of Title I schools in the state based on overall performance in English Language Arts and Mathematics. This recognition also makes both schools eligible to apply for the prestigious 2025 National ESEA Distinguished School Award. Only two schools from each state are selected annually for this national honor, making the designation a significant achievement.
In addition, Golden Isles Elementary School, Goodyear Elementary School, and Sterling Elementary School were recognized as 2025 Georgia Title I Reward Schools. This distinction is awarded to the top 5% of Title I schools in Georgia that have demonstrated the most progress in improving student performance in English Language Arts and Mathematics over the past two years.
“These recognitions are a reflection of the commitment and hard work of our educators, students, and families,” said Shaun Owen, Deputy Superintendent of the Office of Federal Programs, in the announcement. “Their efforts are making a measurable difference in ensuring that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.”
The district extends congratulations and gratitude to the principals, teachers, staff, and students of all five recognized schools for their continued commitment to excellence in education.
