Superintendent's Office

Mike Blackerby is a proud graduate of Brunswick High School. He began his career in education in Camden County as a physical education teacher and coach for golf, track, and football. He earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education from the University of Georgia in 1995, followed by a master’s degree in educational leadership in 2000, and an educational specialist degree in instructional technology in 2004 from Georgia Southern University.

Over his career in Camden County Schools, Blackerby served in several key leadership roles, including principal of Woodbine Elementary School, director of transportation, and director of operations.

In 2021, he joined Glynn County Schools as the executive director of operations and was later appointed assistant superintendent in 2024. On July 1, 2025, he officially began his tenure as Superintendent of Glynn County Schools.
