Board Meeting Highlights
Student & School Spotlights
The June 16 meeting celebrated exceptional innovation and team spirit within our district.
- Mrs. Tara Martinez (Golden Isles Elementary): The Board proudly spotlighted Mrs. Tara Martinez, a third-grade teacher at Golden Isles Elementary, for her incredible creativity and dedication during the final weeks of the school year. Recognizing that the post-testing month of May presents a unique challenge for keeping young students focused, Mrs. Martinez chose to innovate rather than coast to the finish line. Throughout the month, she completely flipped and transformed her classroom daily to match immersive themes—including Camping Day, Zoo Day, Dinosaur Day, Baseball Day, and More. Each day featured hands-on academic activities and matching snacks, turning the final weeks of school into an unforgettable educational adventure.
- Tyree ‘TY’ Chisolm: The Board proudly recognized Glynn Academy student Tyree "TY" Chisolm for an outstanding athletic season, culminating in winning the 5A State Title in the 110m hurdles with a blazing time of 13.95 seconds! In addition to his elite individual performance on the track, Tyree was highly commended for being an exemplary team player who consistently lifts up his teammates and supports individual peers.
