Celebrating the Future: A Recap of Our 2026 Signing Days

This week was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do at Glynn County Schools. On Tuesday, May 5, we celebrated the hard work, ambition, and bright futures of our students through a series of Signing Day ceremonies. These events aren’t just about pens hitting paper; they are a public promise between our students and our community.
We kicked things off with the Golden Isles College & Career Academy (GICCA) Signing Day. For the first time, this event was held at the stunning, brand-new College of Coastal Georgia Center for the Arts.
This ceremony was particularly significant because it showcased the direct link between our classrooms and our local economy. Local businesses from across Glynn County stood on stage to officially "sign" our top-tier GICCA students.
Several of our students were officially signed for placements with local businesses for next year’s work-based learning program, giving them a head start on professional experience while still in school. Even more impressively, the event served as a major recruitment hub where local companies directly hired our graduating seniors. These students aren't just looking for jobs; they are entering the workforce immediately to begin high-demand careers, proving that our schools are a primary engine for the local economy.
Later in the day, we turned our focus to the next generation of teachers. With a nationwide need for passionate educators, seeing our own students commit to this profession is incredibly moving.
At Brunswick High School:
Our future educators gathered to declare their commitment to the classroom. While many are headed to four-year universities to pursue education degrees, we were proud to highlight students who completed the Early Childhood Education pathway and are ready to enter the workforce immediately. Assistant Superintendent Tracy Reyna joined us, offering words of encouragement that reminded these ladies of the profound impact they will soon have on their own students.
At Glynn Academy:
The momentum continued at Glynn Academy, where students signed their intent to teach before heading off to college. We had the privilege of hearing from each student individually about their "why"—the personal stories and teachers who inspired them to choose this path. To cap off the event, we heard from Dr. Leslie Forcina. As she prepares to retire from Glynn County Schools this year, her advice served as a beautiful passing of the torch from a career-long educator to those just beginning their journey.
To all our students who signed this week: Your community is behind you, and we cannot wait to see the impact you make.
