Work Session Highlights
During the April 14 work session, the Board conducted a thorough review of the district’s financial health, facility progress, and essential technology upgrades.
Financials
- Reviewed February 2026 Financials and investments
- The Board also received a budget update for the 2027 fiscal year.
Facilities & Construction Update
Progress continues on several projects:
- CCGA Performing Arts Center: The project is complete. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for April 17 at 2:00 PM.
- Glyndale Replacement School: Steel is currently being erected. Only two more slabs remain to be poured. The project is making excellent progress and remains on schedule.
- BHS Field House: Construction is complete, with only minor items remaining, such as hanging televisions. A change order was noted for a credit back to the general fund.
- Board of Education Wing 4: Renovation is complete, and staff have moved in. Only a few punch-list items remain for Phase 5.
- Reviewed the most recent Gude Report.
- Goodyear Elementary: Upcoming improvements include a renovation (guaranteed maximum price from Pope Construction was presented), Newline interactive panels, and a classroom audio system replacement.
- Brunswick High School Intercom: Approval for the full replacement of the intercom system at BHS to ensure reliable campus communication.
- Athletics: Discussion regarding the purchase of new weights for all middle schools.
Technology
- Frontline Renewal: Approval of the subscription renewal for the district's administrative and human resources software.
- Schoolinks Platform: Approval for the purchase of this new college and career readiness platform to support student planning.
- Exaqvision Video Management System: Renewal of the subscription for the district's camera and security software.
- Golden Isles Office Equipment: Approval of the lease agreement for copiers.

The April meeting celebrated prestigious state and national recognitions for our students and schools:
Georgia Scholar Program
The Georgia Department of Education honored high school seniors who have achieved excellence in both school and community life. These students maintained exemplary course loads, demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, and served as leaders in extracurricular activities.
Brunswick High School: Melissa Bedelean, Charles Clay, Clayton Owens, and Sadie Weis.
National Blue Ribbon School
C.B. Greer Elementary School has been named a 2026 National Blue Ribbon School. This honor, awarded by the U.S. Secretary of Education, distinguishes Greer Elementary as one of the premier elementary schools in the nation. We congratulate Principal Mrs. Robin Hunter and the entire Greer community on this historic achievement.
