Bridging the Gap: Educators Explore Local Industry through Connect Glynn

At Glynn County Schools, we are committed to ensuring that the lessons taught within our classrooms resonate far beyond the school walls. This week, we celebrated a significant milestone in that mission. Through our continued partnership with the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce, several of our dedicated educators recently graduated from the 2026 Connect Glynn Educator Externship Academy.
This program provides a unique opportunity for staff to step out of the traditional academic environment and into the heart of local industry. Our educators spent three full workdays immersed in the operations of prominent Golden Isles businesses.
The program culminated this week with a series of presentations. Each participant developed and shared comprehensive lesson plans and deliverables designed to bridge the gap between curriculum and career. These projects will show our students exactly how their current studies connect to high-demand professional opportunities right here in our community.
This level of professional development is only possible through the generosity of our local business partners. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to this year’s host sites for investing their time, expertise, and resources into our educators:
-
Sea Island
-
Chick-fil-A Brunswick
-
Southeast Georgia Health System
-
King and Prince Seafood
-
Jekyll Island Authority
-
Okefenoke REMC
By opening their doors to our staff, these organizations are directly investing in the future workforce of Glynn County. We are proud of our educators for their commitment to continuous learning and for their dedication to preparing our students for life after graduation.
