Work Session Highlights (March 5, 2026)
During the March work session, the Board reviewed several key updates regarding the district’s financial status, ongoing construction milestones, and future infrastructure planning.
District Operations & Strategic Planning
The Board conducted a thorough review of the district’s fiscal health and safety protocols:

Financial Reports: Reviewed the January 2026 Financial Report and performed a follow-up analysis of the January investment tracking.

Contract Renewal: Reviewed and moved forward with the Centegix renewal contract to maintain district-wide emergency response systems.
Facilities & Construction Update
Significant progress was reported on several major bond projects and campus improvements:

College of Coastal Georgia Performing Arts Center: Installation of the front windows is complete. Sidewalk lighting is progressing well, and crews are currently installing seat cushions.

Brunswick High School Field House: Exterior signage is finished, and furniture is currently being delivered for the trainer’s area.

BHS Memorial Garden: The garden is taking shape with the installation of palm trees, mulch, and monuments.

Board of Education Office: The renovation of the BOE wing 4 is officially complete.

Greer Elementary: A request was made to name Pope Construction as the construction manager for upcoming renovations.

Glyndale Elementary: The Board reviewed a Phase 1 development change order to move the original budget line to Phase 2 due to a permit delay.

Gude Report: Conducted a review of the most recent Gude Report.
Board Meeting Highlights
Spotlights
The March 10 meeting celebrated historic achievements in the arts and recognized the dedicated service of our local leadership.
BHS Theater: The Board proudly recognized the students and staff of Brunswick High School for their groundbreaking production of The Bald Soprano.
- History in the Making: In October, BHS became the first production in Glynn County Schools history to win the top honor at the Georgia Theatre Conference.
- Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC): As one of only five schools representing Georgia, the team competed at the regional level from March 4–8, earning an impressive 2nd place finish in the Southeast.
- Director Recognition: One-Act Coach and Theatre Teacher Lucy Bryson shared the impact of this journey on the students, who proudly displayed their awards for the Board.
School Board Appreciation Week: In honor of School Board Appreciation Week, the district celebrated the commitment of our Board members.

Statewide Recognition: A proclamation from Governor Brian Kemp was shared, officially declaring the week in honor of school boards across Georgia.

Tokens of Gratitude: Each member was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation. The presentation concluded with a special video featuring students and staff expressing their thanks for the Board's leadership and service to the community.
