Glynn County Schools is pleased to announce that Mr. Shaw McVeigh has been sworn in to fill the District 4 seat on the Glynn County Board of Education.
A lifelong resident of Glynn County and a proud graduate of our school system, Mr. McVeigh brings deep roots, historical perspective, and a genuine commitment to the students and families of our community. He has long expressed gratitude for the opportunities Glynn County Schools provided him, sharing that “serving on the Board for this unexpired term would be a special opportunity to serve, especially our youth and our community, again.”
Mr. McVeigh has been appointed to complete the remainder of the District 4 unexpired term, which is set to conclude in the spring of 2026. At that time, the seat will follow the regular election cycle for the next full term.
Public education has played a central role in the McVeigh family. His wife, Patricia, devoted 31 years to teaching at Brunswick High School before retiring. Together, they have two daughters and seven grandchildren, further strengthening his personal investment in the continued success of our schools.
His prior experience on the Board, paired with decades of community involvement, equips him with valuable insight into the needs, strengths, and traditions of Glynn County Schools.
We are grateful for Mr. McVeigh’s willingness to serve and look forward to the perspective and dedication he will bring to the Board of Education in the months ahead.
