Students from Glynn Academy, Brunswick High School, and Frederica Academy spent the day learning firsthand how local government works!

Through the Golden Isles Government Immersion Program, founded by Glynn Academy senior Lily Roberts just two years ago, students had the unique opportunity to shadow city and county officials, gaining real-world insight into leadership, service, and civic responsibility. They even had the opportunity to sit in on a Glynn County Emergency Management meeting, where they learned about the plans and protocols for the upcoming Georgia-Florida weekend, which brings thousands of visitors to our community.

What began as a small group of nine GA students has now grown into a county-wide initiative, with 35 students selected from a competitive application process this year.
