Work Session Highlights
During the October work session, the Board reviewed several key updates and action items, including:

Financials:
Reviewed August financial statements and investment reports. -
Facilities Update:

College of Coastal Georgia Performing Arts Center – Construction is progressing well with window installation complete and pavement work underway.

Glyndale Elementary Replacement – Two of the three retention ponds have been dug, and dirt is being brought in for grading.

Capital Outlay Projects:

Brunswick High Field House – Brick and mortar work is complete; significant progress is expected over the next month.

Board of Education Wing 4 Renovation – Floor leveling is complete, and window framing is progressing well.

GUIDE Report:
Reviewed the latest report, noting that collections are higher compared to this time last year. -
Surplus Items:
The Board considered approval to auction surplus items on GovDeals.com. -
Glyndale Elementary Replacement:
The Board reviewed a request for approval of the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) from R.H. Tyson Construction. -
Brunswick High School Old Gym:
Considered approval to replace the sanitary system. -
Change Orders:

Satilla Marsh Elementary – Considered approval for an increase from Pope Construction, which will close out the project.

Glyndale Elementary Replacement – Considered approval for a credit change order from Ridge Enterprises.

Carpentry Pathway for Geometry Credit:
Reviewed a proposal allowing completion of the Carpentry Pathway to satisfy the required geometry unit. -
Economic Development Partnership Designation:
Glynn County Schools was one of 21 districts statewide to be awarded this certification. The grant will help offset costs for the Educator Externship Program. -
Policy JCDAF:
The Board reviewed this policy and agreed to leave it on the table for consideration at the next meeting. -
Purchase of Vehicles:
Considered approval to purchase seven new school buses, six new microbuses, and four additional vehicles to support smaller student group services.
