In need of a win, the Glynn Academy Red Terrors got a big one Friday night as they knocked off Lakeside-Evans 44-10 in Evans.

 

The victory was the first for the Terrors in Region 1-AAAAAA as they started out league play last Friday with a home loss to Bradwell Institute.

 

The Terrors (2-3) would lead this one 23-3 at halftime after falling behind early when the Panthers (0-5, 0-2) converted a fumble by Glynn on its opening series into a field goal.

 

The Terrors went to work with their ball-control offense on their next possession and would pound their way to the end zone with Caiden Robinson scoring from a yard away in the final seconds of the opening quarter for a 6-3 lead.  

 

Glynn forced a fumble the next time Lakeside had the ball and turned good field-position into a touchdown as Robinson scored again from 3 yards out this time, giving the Terrors a 13-3 advantage after the point-after kick.

 

GA would score again on an 81-yard run by Ja’Kori Roman for a 21-3 cushion after a successful two-point play by the Terrors as well. Robinson, who had the first two scoring runs for Glynn, scored on the two-point try for the visitors.

 

Before the end of the opening half, the Glynn defense would sack the Panthers’ quarterback in the end zone for a safety and a 23-3 lead.

 

The Terrors would get the ball back on offense following the safety and added another first-half score prior to the halftime break. This one came on a 17-yard carry by Jemayne Leggitt on a reverse.

 

After halftime, Glynn got two touchdown runs by Ian Pomiechowski. He scored just moments into the third period on a 57-yard run and would score again later from 13 yards out for a 44-3 lead.

 

The Panthers scored on a kick return for the 44-10 final score.

 

Glynn will be back at home next Friday night for a region game against Effingham. The Rebels moved to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the region with a 55-36 home victory Friday over Bradwell.
