Game Preview
The Red Terrors and Panthers will both be looking to notch their first Region 1-AAAAAA victory of the season when they square off Friday night.
Both squads lost their league openers last week, with Glynn falling 54-43 at home to Bradwell Institute and Lakeside-Evans losing 59-0 at home to Effingham.
Glynn was tied with the Tigers 28-28 at the half last Friday but never led in the game. GA scored on four straight possessions prior to halftime after losing a fumble that Bradwell returned for a touchdown on its opening series.
The Tigers (3-1) scored on three offensive series while running only five plays at one point in the opening half.
For the game, the Terrors gave up 441 yards including 325 passing as Bradwell quarterback Jah’Barri Felix threw for five touchdowns.
Glynn actually outgained the Tigers as it finished with 524 yards with 481 coming on the ground.
The Panthers, meantime, turned over the ball three times as they were blanked at home on the scoreboard by Effingham which pitched its second straight shutout.
The Rebels scored 39 points in the first half and emptied the bench in the second half.
Lakeside senior quarterback Ben Herrington has thrown for 546 yards in four games with three touchdown passes and three interceptions.
The Panthers lost their opener to Aiken (S.C.) 31-7 before also falling to Midland Valley (S.C.) by 42-7 and Evans by 34-15 prior to kicking off league play against Effingham.
