Last year/All-time: The teams did not play in 2025. This is the first-ever meeting between the teams.

 

Game Preview

 

The Red Terrors are looking to put one in the win column after dropping their first two games of the season.

The Terrors lost their opener two weeks ago at home to Calvary Day School (49-22) and fell last week at Camden County (42-13).

 

Glynn needs a victory to avoid its first-ever 0-3 start to a season under head coach Rocky Hidalgo who is in his 13^th season with the team.

 

The Terrors have not started a season with three straight losses since 2009.

 

Friday’s game is the final non-region game for the Terrors. Glynn will have an open date next week before kicking off Region 1-AAAAAA action on Sept. 18 against Bradwell Institute at home.

 

This will be the first-ever meeting between Glynn and Savannnah Christian, which competes in Class AA and would play in the Georgia High School Association’s private-school state playoffs should it advance to the postseason.

 

The Raiders went 7-5 last season and reached the second round of the playoffs. They have made the playoffs every season under head coach Baker Woodward who is now in his ninth season with the program.

 

Last week, the Raiders lost to Bethesda Academy, 32-28. Bethesda, also located in Savannah, competes in the South Carolina private school ranks where it won a state championship last season. The team is 3-0 on the season. The win over Savannah Christian last week was the program’s first win over a GHSA opponent.

 

Savannah Christian lost two Power 4 commits in the offseason.

 

Current University of Georgia defensive lineman Elijah Griffin played at Savannah Christian. He was a four-star recruit coming out of high school and is a sophomore with the Bulldogs this season.

 

Former Georgia Tech standout and NFL linebacker Keith Brooking is a linebackers coach for Savannah Christian. His youngest son, Jonah Brooking, is a sophomore wide receiver and defensive back for the Raiders.

 

Keith Brooking, who starred at East Coweta during his prep days, was inducted into the Georgia High School Football Hall of Fame last fall. He played 15 seasons in the NFL, mostly with the Atlanta Falcons, and made the Pro Bowl five times.
