2024-2025 Calendar & School Hours

The first day of school is Wednesday, August 7. GCSS will operate on a 179-day instructional calendar for the 2024-25 school year. This change from a full 180-day calendar is to provide more options for teacher workdays, professional development and short breaks in October, February and March. Below are graphic and text versions of the complete calendar.

NOTE: The Glynn County Board of Education unanimously approved a change to the 2024-2025 academic calendar during the October Work Session on October 3, 2024. Due to school closures caused by Hurricane Helene, Tuesday, Nov. 5 (Election Day) will now be an instructional day for students instead of a teacher workday.

This adjustment results in 89 instructional days in the first semester and 90 in the second semester. Fall break remains scheduled for Friday, October 11, and Monday, October 14.
