2020-21 Flu Vaccine Recommendations

The best way to keep our students healthy during flu season is to immunize them. All enrolled students will be eligible to receive the flu shot through their school regardless of insurance status. If you would like your student vaccinated, you must complete, sign, and return a Parental Consent Form to your child’s school nurse by October 15, 2020.

GCSS District Parent-Family Engagement Plan Now Available

In support of strengthening student academic achievement, we have developed a parent-family engagement plan to engage families in the education of their children and to build the capacity in our Title I schools to implement activities designed to achieve those goals.

School programming aims to address students' social, emotional needs

“Realizing that our students have not been in formalized instruction since March 2020 and the fact that we don’t know all of the challenges that our children have faced during this time, our district is committed to prioritizing compassion over compliance this year.” -- Student Services Director Senetra Haywood
