Brunswick High Seniors Named 2023 Georgia Scholars

On March 27, State School Superintendent Richard Woods announced that 154 graduating seniors from across the State have been recognized as 2023 Georgia Scholars.

Of that total, three students in Glynn County Schools were named. They include Brunswick High seniors Emily Dey, Madigan Kirkland and Manas Patel

Through the Georgia Scholar program, the Georgia Department of Education identifies and honors high school seniors who have achieved excellence in school and community life. Students eligible for Georgia Scholar recognition are high school seniors who exhibit excellence in all phases of school life, in community activities, and in the home.

Georgia Scholars are students who have carried exemplary course loads during their four years of high school; who performed excellently in all courses; who successfully participated in interscholastic events at their schools and in their communities; and who have assumed active roles in extracurricular activities sponsored by their schools.

“I extend my sincerest congratulations to the 2023 Georgia Scholars," Superintendent Woods said. “These 154 Class of 2023 seniors worked hard, became leaders in their schools and communities, and took advantage of the opportunities offered in Georgia public schools. I wish them continued success as they embark on their futures, including plans for after high school and beyond. I know they'll continue to make us all proud."

The program is coordinated by GaDOE’s Office of Communications in partnership with local school districts and schools. Each Georgia Scholar receives a seal for their diploma.
