Glynn County Association of Educators (GCAE) sponsored the 2022 Glynn County Spelling Bee on January 10, 2022. Students from Glynn County’s 14 elementary and middle schools competed for the rights to represent Glynn County at the Region 8 spelling bee.
The winner of this year’s bee is Kara Nuque, an 8th grader from Needwood Middle School. (This is Kara's second time winning the county spelling bee and 4th time as a finalist. Last year, she finaled at the region 8 bee and went on to the state competition.)
The alternate is Kamille Nuque, a 4th grader from C.B. Greer Elementary School. (She is Kara's sister.)
The winning word was honorific.
NOTE:The Region 8 District Spelling Bee will be held on Feb. 26, followed by the Georgia Association of Educators (GAE) State Spelling Bee on March 18.
