Meal services delayed April 13 due to severe thunderstorm

Due to the severe thunderstorm warning issued for Glynn County, our meal distribution services will be held from noon to 1 p.m. today, April 13, at Altama Elementary, Brunswick High, Burroughs-Molette Elementary and Sterling Elementary.

Per new requirements from our USDA waiver, parents and/or guardians who arrive at the four sites without students in their vehicle will be given up to four bagged meals.

In order to receive more than four bagged breakfast and lunch items at our sites, parents and/or guardians are required to either show their ID or proof that the students live in their home. This could be proof of a Parent Portal on Infinite Campus or their student’s ID number.

This does NOT apply to those whose children are in their vehicle during the time of pickups.

As part of the meal distribution services, on Mondays (April 13 and 20), students will receive a lunch for that day, breakfast and lunch for Tuesday, and breakfast for Wednesday.  On Wednesdays (April 15 and 22), students can expect a lunch for that day, breakfast and lunch for Thursday, and breakfast for Friday. On Fridays (April 17 and 24), they will collect a lunch for that day and breakfast for the following Monday.

These services will be provided from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the four named sites. We ask that all drivers please go to the BHS site for drive-thru pickups.

All meals must be picked up at the bus ramp at Altama, BHS and BME. Meals are to be picked up at the front of the school at Sterling. Home deliveries will be made for students who are wheelchair-bound or have other medical disabilities that prohibit them from receiving the meals at the school sites.
