The first public hearing will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4. The second public hearing will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4. The third and final public hearing will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11. Following the third and final public hearing, the Glynn County Board of Education will adopt the 2020 millage rate at a Regular Board meeting on Tuesday, August 11 at 6:00 p.m. The Board meeting will be held at the Glynn County School System Administration Building, 1313 Egmont Street, Brunswick, Georgia.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 16.157 mills, an increase of .175 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 15.982 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $225,000 is approximately $39.38 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $250,000 is approximately $43.75.
