St. Francis Xavier Catholic School is an oasis in the middle of Brunswick, GA. The school was founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, and classes began on the first floor of the convent in 1900.  The present classrooms are located on 1121 Union Street in Brunswick, GA.  The school houses over 270 students from grades pre-kindergarten to eighth grade.  Included in the program is a mother’s morning out program for 3 year old children.

The school serves families from all races, ethnic backgrounds, economic sources, Catholic or non-Catholic denominations, and provides tuition scholarships yearly.

The school is subsidied by three parishes in Glynn County.  Nativity of our Lady in Darien, St. William Church on St. Simons Island and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Brunswick.

Under the direction of the Diocese of Savannah all curriculum and policies are approved by the Bishop of Savannah and the pastors of the local churches.

The school is joined by 16 others Catholic schools from Columbus, GA, down to the border of Florida, and up to Augusta, GA, the home of the “Masters” golf tournament.

St. Francis Xavier Catholic School wide curriculum program begins with religion classes that use the RCL Faith First Legacy Edition. The core subjects include English-Language Arts, Science, Math, Social Studies, Art, Music, Technology, Physical Education, and Spanish.  St. Francis Xavier prides itself on the profile of graduate which nurtures each student to live by Gospel values and the goal of life-long learning in a faith-filled environment.
