Strategy & Innovation

The role of the department is to support the priorities of the district through the development of the Strategic Plan and implementation of identified strategies to improve student outcomes. A Balanced Scorecard aligned to the Strategic Plan gauges the district's progress toward defined goals. The focus of the work combines expectations from federal, state, and local guidelines for schools. With the introduction of the Strategic Waiver System contract in 2016, Glynn County incorporates strategies to maximize flexibility to increase opportunities for students without negotiating the quality of their experiences.

Progress on the Strategic Plan is monitored through a variety of artifacts. Available evidence is linked to the strategic plan webpage. The alignment of the focus areas to Georgia's Systems of Continuous Improvement and the Performance Standards established by AdvancEd for accreditation shows our commitment to coordinate our efforts within a single reference. Additionally, we have aligned actions in support of the Georgia Vision Project

Board of Education meetings and administrative meetings with the Superintendent's Cabinet are developed with the focus areas as the outline. The direct connection with the strategic plan ensures focus on system priorities.

Improvement initiatives capture the innovative ideas of leaders in the system while maintaining a culture of accountability that influences positive change. Developing strong foundations for success through evidence-based practices establishes expectations for growth.

Assessments designated to demonstrate student achievement at the national, state and local levels are used to refine instructional practices.
